Today was just what my body needed. I got to sleep in after about ten days of three to four hours of sleep at night. Again I’m almost embarrassed to say; it took me until recently to learn how important sleep is when it comes to overall health.  I have to remind myself of this a lot. My husband is so good about saying to me I need to rest. He kind of helps me remember sometimes. LOL. Today I slept until a phone call from work woke me up. I got about 10 hours of sleep, and it felt good. Next, I got my meal prep together. After watching the Super Bowl, eating chips, salsa, and steaks, I felt not so great. And yes, I was cheering for the Pats. I got so tired over everyone saying Brady is old or washed up …

If you’re the best on game day, It doesn’t matter how old you are… You’re just the best. Love an underdog and for me all that smack talk made The Patriots the underdogs in a way. But that’s a whole other post. We had fun even just watching and snacking and hanging out.  I sometimes wonder if you can have a food hangover? I mean my body felt like it was full of salt when I got up today. So I made some salad and what I needed for a protein shake along with a few snacks to take to work.

I still struggle with all the bags though. Lunch bag, computer bag, go bad…

I need to condense I think. Anyway,  I’ve come to love the small group I work out with at the gym. There are three of us. It’s just the right size to feel like a team and keep us connected in friendship and fitness. I’m so excited because the person we usually work out with has been on a different shift since about the week of Christmas, but finally tomorrow we should be back at it in the gym.

I’ve been nursing some minor injuries or aches and pains so only getting in there a couple of times a week compared to my normal, but the good news is everything seems to have timed out through tomorrow I should be back to my norm. I’ll get there 30-50 minutes before to do my cardio then meet up with them. I’ll try to fall asleep by 2:00 am tonight, so the am isn’ t such a hard turn around. encouragement always helps and hubby recently told me he was noticing more definition in some of my muscles which he knows I’m working on so that will help me jump out of bed in the am.

I’ve been getting my workout stuff organized the night before training. It makes it so much easier to hop out of bed and get going when it’s sometimes still dark outside. Probably doesn’t sound like much but it seems to help me a lot.
